Work History and Education

Prior to attending law school, Amy worked in the field of law for many years as a paralegal with both large and small law firms in Toronto, the Fraser Valley and Vancouver.  Amy operated a successful freelance paralegal business while raising her son and completing her undergraduate degree as a mature student and continued to operate that business while completing her law degree from the University of Victoria.  She obtained her law degree in 2015 and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2016.

This life experience means that Amy brings a developed perspective to the practice of law, a business owner's understanding of the importance of excellent client service and the practical skills gained from over 20 years working in law firms and with clients, all of which she will leverage to assist you with your matter.

Amy is an empathetic listener who will treat you with respect, take the time to explain the steps along the way and do her very best to help you resolve your file in a timely manner.

Amy volunteers with the BC Branch of the Canadian Bar Association as an executive member of the Vancouver Island Women Lawyers Forum, the Victoria Wills & Trusts Section, the Family Law Section and the Young Lawyers Section.  Amy is also an organizer of the annual Law Day event at the Victoria Law Courts and a director on the Greater Victoria Police Victim Services Board.
